Message from the Board

Thank you for visiting our website.  As you have seen or will see via your electronic visit, our retirement community is quite different from others.  Let me explain.

First, we are a Christian faith-based welcoming home.  We have a ordained Presbyterian minister on staff.  She coordinates two services each week.  Additionally, as an ecumenical Christian Community, we also have twice weekly Roman Catholic Communion and once a month Catholic Mass.

We offer independent living apartments, assistive living suites and rooms, and an intermediate Care Center.  Illinois Presbyterian Home Communities is a non-profit retirement community with a home-like atmosphere.  From the fellowship focused meals, to the activity programs, and light housekeeping, our residents enjoy a most gracious lifestyle.

Secondly, our volunteers are a very important part of what makes IPH Communities special!   Volunteers contribute services for both indoor and outdoor needs. They are cheerful smiling persons who make a tremendous impact whether they are helping with painting or landscaping, making ice cream, baking cakes, calling Bingo, selling greeting cards, or dozens of other activities.  So, with the help of the Board of Directors, and even an interior designer volunteer, our residents truly feel like they are “home”.

Thirdly, we have licensed nursing staff on-site 24 hours a day.  They dispense medications, help with simple procedures such as administer eye drops, provide lite wound care, and oversee oxygen and nebulizer use. Our staff of Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants are quick to identify changes of condition and are able to work closely with the attending physician to help ensure our residents can remain in their IPH “home” as long as possible.  So, yes, around the clock nursing care does make a difference.

Now you have seen us electronically, you are invited to physically visit the IPH Communities. For 70 years we have offered exceptional care and services at an affordable value.  We realize that there are many different living options available. So please contact Maryann Walker, our Executive Director, or myself to schedule a tour.  And, when you are visiting, please consider dining with us.  This will allow you to experience our true “home-like feeling”.
